Join the Beaufort Players

Change your life … dramatically!

  • Stepping out onto the stage for the first time on opening night…
  • The sense of achievement when you see the props and set you’ve built…
  • The teamwork when working backstage, doing the lighting or sound…
  • The smiles and audience reactions when running the front of house
  • The joy of seeing a play you’ve worked on come to life…

Putting together a theatre production is a fun, social activity. The Beaufort Players are a friendly group of people who are passionate about their plays. Every year we put on three productions, from thrillers to comedies; pantomimes to murder mysteries; Shakespeare to self-written plays.

We currently have around 35 members, spanning a wide range of ages and abilities. Don’t worry if you’ve never done anything like this before: previous experience, although welcomed, is not necessary. Whatever your strengths, there’s always something to get stuck into, whether on-stage, behind the scenes, helping out with costumes, sound, lighting, publicity — or even making the tea!

But it’s not all work, work, work!

christmas dinnerAbove all else, we believe that belonging to the Beaufort Players should be fun. We typically spend around 10 weeks rehearsing for each production, so we try to make them as enjoyable as possible. Even when you’re not involved in the current production, there’s always plenty happening on Wednesday nights. And, as well as a full programme of plays, we also arrange social events for members such as theatre outings, meals at local hostelries, as well as our annual Summer and New Year parties.

Pop in for a cup of biscuit

If you’d like to be part of a thriving and expanding drama group, then why not pay us a visit and see if we’re for you? We meet every Wednesday evening from 8pm to 10.30pm at the Ascension Hall in Ealing and promise you a warm welcome, a hot beverage, something resembling a biscuit, and no pressure to join! We also host regular Green Room Nights specially aimed at new members so you can get a feel for the group.

So come on, what have you got to lose? All you have to do is contact us.

Organised Fun

Anyone over 18 years of age can apply to join the Beaufort Players: we don’t require a membership audition or an acting resume.

You must be a member to audition for or take part in any production. The membership year starts with the Summer production and includes the following Autumn and Spring productions. Once the Autumn production has been cast, new members may pay a half-sub to join for only the Spring 2016 production.

Membership costs just £62. A concession rate of £56 applies to members who are retired, unemployed or in full-time education. New members who are unsure about committing to the group may pay a special £20 fee to audition for the first time. Should they be cast in a production, the remainder of the subscription will be due immediately.
