We’ve recently had a second reading of “The Regina Monologues” by Rebecca Russell and Jenny Wafer, and it’s now confirmed as (one of) our autumn productions for 2017. Further details, plus details of the auditions will be made available soon; read on to see if you’re keen!
“The Regina Monologues” is a 1-act play about Henry the Eighth, but from the perspective of his six wives. As you might have guessed, it’s full of monologues and is an all female cast, but there might be the possibility of males playing the roles too. The interesting take on this is that it is set in the present day but is based on events that happened to them while they were with Henry. There are some really powerful characters and the script is a beautiful blend of comedy and tragedy.
